Use of Microsilica

Looking for Microsilica or Silica fume in Dubai? Or want to improve your construction! Get it from ARABIAN TRADING ESTABLISHMENT LLC, one of the best importer of Raw materials in Dubai, UAE.

Before exploring into the use of Microsilica!

Firstly, you get to know about What is Microsilica?

Microsilica is a mineral admixture made up of extremely fine solid glassy spheres of silicon dioxide. It is sometimes referred to as silica fume or condensed silica fume. It is typically discovered as a by-product of ferrosilicon and metallic silicon manufacturing in high-temperature electric arc furnaces. Microsilica lessens permeability to chloride and slows down the pace of carbonation.

Because of this, aggressive chemicals can be effectively shielded from reinforcing and embedment’s by Microsilica concrete. Because it produces a more even distribution, a higher volume of hydration products, and reduces the average size of pores in the cement paste, micro silica increases the strength and durability of concrete.

The company have been supplying durable solutions for cementing jobs to enhance the strength of materials and also to protect it from corrosion and deliver certain materials such as Microsilica or silica fume. The use of Microsilica is also useful to prevent the surface from the penetration of chemicals, moisture as well as other containments.

  • Slurry micro silica
  • Powdered micro silica
  • Condensed micro silica

Practical Use of Microsilica in Concrete
  • Specifying for durability
  • Silica fume waterproof concreate
  • Shotcrete
  • Used in polymer, ceramic, elastomeric as well as rubber application
  • High Strength Concrete

Benefits of Microsilica
  • Reduce bridge construction costs by increasing span
  • Reduce corrosion protection costs
  • Reduce life cycle cost
  • Reduce paving costs by one pass finishing
  • Reduce shotcrete costs by decreasing return materials
  • Reduce construction costs by designing slender elements

Advantages of Use of Microsilica
  • Enhanced durability
  • Low bleeding
  • Increased toughness
  • High early compressive strength
  • Increased abrasion resistance on decks, floors, overlays and Spillway
  • Very low permeability to chloride and water intrusion
  • Increased modulus of elasticity
  • High cohesiveness and low return materials
  • Decreased risk of concrete surface dusting
  • Superior resistance to chemical attack from chlorides, acids, and sulphates
  • High tensile flexural strength
  • Superior resistance to alkali–silica reaction (ASR)
